Disasters. Translation Task

Variant I

Прошедший год стал самым жарким в США за всю историю метеорологических наблюдений, которые ведутся в стране с 1895 года. Средняя температура в 2012 году составила 12,9 градуса, что на целых 0,6 градуса превысило прежний рекорд 1998 года. Из всех месяцев самым жарким был июль. Он тоже побил все рекорды: его средняя температура составила 24,9 градуса, это самый большой показатель за всю историю метеонаблюдений. Как отмечают ученые, причинами столь жаркого года стали глобальное потепление и естественные колебания климата. В 2012 году в США произошло 11 природных катастроф, связанных с погодой. В их числе — обрушившийся в конце октября на Восточное побережье страны ураган "Сэнди" и продолжавшаяся несколько месяцев засуха, охватившая почти две трети территории страны и ставшая самой суровой с пятидесятых годов прошлого века. Выводы ученых основываются на показаниях более чем 1200 метеостанций со всех американских штатов. На Аляске минувший год был, наоборот, несколько прохладнее и дождливее среднего.

Ураган "Сэнди" медленно смещается в сторону канадской границы, оставляя за собой шлейф разрушений и жертв. На северо-востоке США миллионы жителей остались без электричества и транспорта, множество домов затоплены или разрушены. За два дня было отменено более 15 тысяч авиарейсов. После того, как ураган "Сэнди" в ночь на вторник обрушился на восточное побережье США, особенно пострадали штаты Нью-Джерси и Нью-Йорк. В Нью-Йорке рекордно высокие волны - до 4,2 м - залили туннели и метро. В городе погибли 10 человек, в основном от падающих деревьев и от пожаров. Президент США Барак Обама объявил штат Нью-Йорк зоной стихийного бедствия и ввел там режим чрезвычайного положения. Шквальный ветер вызвал наводнения и привел к транспортному коллапсу и отключениям электричества. В Нью-Йорке взорвалась трансформаторная подстанция, была эвакуирована одна больница, сгорело 50 домов. В результате удара стихии в США погибли по меньшей мере 32 человека. Количество жителей в районах, подлежащих обязательной эвакуации, может достичь одного миллиона.

The last year was the hottest in USA ever knew in history of meteorological observations, which are dating in the country since 1895. His average temperature was 24.9 degrees; it was the highest index ever knew in history of meteorological observations. As sciences claim, the reasons of so hot year are global warming and natural climate. In 2012 in USA happened 11 natural disasters, because of weather-related. Among them where – The hurricane Sandy which fell up on the east coast by the end of October and a lasted drought for several months, capture almost two-thirds of countries territory and was identified as the most sever since 50s. As the scientists note, that the reasons of such a hot year became the Global Warming and natural climate oscillation. In 2012 year in USA has taken place 11 natural disasters related to weather. This number consists of Hurricane Sandy that brought down in the east coast hurricane Sandy in the end of October and continuing for several months drought, involved almost two thirds of country’s territory becoming the severest since 50s. Scientist’ conclusions are based on 1200 meteorological stations’ indicators from all American states. In Alaska last year was quite the contrary, a bit more colder and rainy of average level.

After the hurricane "Sandy", strucked on Monday night on the east coast of the U.S., particularly was affected the states of New Jersey and New York. In New York, a record high waves - up to 4,2 m - flooded tunnels and underground. In the city died 10 people, mostly from falling trees and fire. U.S. President Barack Obama declared New York a disaster zone and imposed there a state of emergency. Heavy wind caused flooding and led to traffic collapse and power outages. In New York have exploded a transformer substation, was evacuated a hospital, burned 50 houses. As a result of the disaster in the U.S., have died at least 32 people. Number of residents in regions subject to obligatory evacuation could reach one million.

In northeast USA millions residents have remained without an electricity and transport, set of houses are flooded or destroyed. For two days it has been cancelled more than 15 thousand flights. After hurricane "Sandy" on the night of Tuesday has fallen upon east coast USA, states of New Jerseys and New York have especially injured. In New York record-breaking high waves - up to 4,2 m - have filled in tunnels and the subway. In city were lost 10 person, basically from falling trees and from fires. President of the United States Barack Obama has declared state of New York a zone of act of nature and has entered there a mode of state of emergency. The heavy wind has caused flooding and has led to a transport collapse and switching-off of an electricity. In New York the transformer substation has blown up, one hospital has been evacuated, 50 houses have burned down. As a result of impact of elements in the USA 32 persons were lost at least. Quantity of residents in regions subject to obligatory evacuation could reach one million.
